For debugging messages, please use the --debug option.
Debugging messages may help finding a solution to your problem.
If you intend to send any error or debug messages to the gphoto
developer mailing list <gphoto-***@lists.sourceforge.net>, please run
gphoto2 as follows:

env LANG=C gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=my-logfile.txt
--capture-image

Please make sure there is sufficient quoting around the arguments.

Hi,

This lsusb should list the Canon camera.

Check if the cable is good, the battery is good ... or if there any
other hardware related issues.

And/or check "dmesg" output, if there are any kernel errors.

Ciao, Marcus

Chris Hamman,

Were you ever able to get gphoto2 to recognize your 80D?
I have the same problem and it does not matter what cable I use, etc, as
suggested.
